Charlie – rescued in 2023 from the hell hole that was Akdogan shelter. Charlie survived but witnessed other dogs killing and eating each other from hunger or fighting, they were picking off the young and weak……..
He was so traumatised by the whole situation he had to be sedated to be taken out of the shelter on the day of the rescue. Long after the uproar about this shelter and all the media coverage has long been forgotten, charities like Hope 4 Pets are still caring for animals like Charlie, who literally have no one else. This traumatised dog who because of the barbaric conditions he was subjected to cannot be rehomed and cannot go to a shelter. Charlie is being cared for by a lady called Emma, who although she thought she was a temporary foster, has had no choice but to take on Charlie permanently, Emma is a Trustee of the charity. It has been left to Emma with her years of experience with dogs with behavioural issues to try and help Charlie to adjust to life in a home and Hope 4 Pets to financially take care of Charlie for the remainder of his life. He is cared for in Emma’s home, which is not without its difficulties as she has male dogs who Charlie does not like, he loves Emma, but he is very unpredictable with anyone else. He has a skin allergy which means he is on very expensive dog food, called Ultra Hypo – Vetlife. If you sponsor Charlie, you will be helping to pay for his expensive food, medical treatments, (he has an enlarged spleen), his yearly inoculations and his monthly tick/flea/worming treatment all of which the Charity has to find the money to cover. The love and care from Emma is FREE.
